By ferry Ferries are an important mode of transport in the region, connecting the many islands and peninsulas. Discovering Argyll and the Isles by ferry is a pleasure in itself.

Caledonian MacBrayne have announced a NEW FERRY SERVICE between Ardrossan and Campbeltown which will run from 23rd May until 28th September. Select CalMac Ferries link on the left to view timetable, etc.

From Ireland
Visitors from Ireland can travel from Larne to Cairnryan with Stenaline or from Larne to Cairnryan and Troon with P&O Ferries, who also offer express ferries to Troon between March and October.

A smaller passenger-only ferry service also operates between Ballycastle and Campbeltown in Kintyre with a journey time of 1 hour 30 mins. This service operates Fridays to Mondays from Friday 29th March and daily from Monday 29th April 2013. Kintyre Express is also available for private charter all year round and each charter is tailored to your individual requirements. Departure points and destinations include Troon, Girvan, Campbeltown...
